As a kid, I loved fancy hot cocoa and as I got older, it wasn’t winter until I had my first peppermint mocha from that famous Seattle coffee shop. This time of year, it’s gloomy and cold and some evenings I want a cozy and minty little treat. Something warm, something that comes together quickly, but that feels like a special dessert. That’s where this peppermint cocoa comes in. Bust out your favorite cheesy holiday movie and snuggle up under a blanket next to the fire and make sure you have this sweet drink by your side.
Rai’s Peppermint Hot Cocoa
For an 8-ounce drink, make 6 ounces of your favorite hot cocoa in whatever way you prefer – I like using dark chocolate syrup and hot milk.
Add in:
-One-ounce of peppermint schnapps
-One-ounce of chocolate liqueur
Top with the amount of whipped cream that makes your heart happy, as many sprinkles as makes you smile, and pop in a candy cane to stir.
If that doesn’t make you feel all warm and fuzzy, maybe go back and try a Grinchmosa! 🙂 Tomorrow, I’ll give a quick nod to my favorite homemade aged egg nog!
See you then, Dear Reader.
Raina
